Hub FAQs
How long do I have access to a hub?
You have lifetime access to all workshops in the hub(s) you purchase.
What resources come with the hubs?
- 7 - 10 Interactive workshops (30-45 minutes each).
- Engaging self-paced video workshops taught by a New Zealand Literacy expert
- Printable Word Whizz paper to help structure the lesson during the writing component.
How long does each workshop take?
Each workshop takes around 40 minutes, but every child is different—some may take longer or shorter.
What is my role as a parent or tutor?
We recommend that an adult actively supports their child’s learning. This helps you understand their progress and guide them when needed. Parents, grandparents, and tutors can all benefit from learning alongside children!
What device do I need?
We recommend using a laptop, computer, or iPad for the best experience. An iPhone or small-screen device is not suitable.
Do I need to download any software?
No downloads are required! Workshops are delivered via an online link. After purchasing, you'll receive a link to access your hub(s).
How does Word Whizz help children with learning difficulties like dyslexia?
Our Structured Literacy approach is research-based and highly effective for children with dyslexia. It provides:
- Step-by-step, systematic teaching
- Repeated practice at different levels (letters, sounds, words, and sentences)
- Unlimited access to workshops so children can revisit lessons as needed
Research shows children with dyslexia may need 3-4 times more practice than their peers, which is why we offer ongoing access to all workshops.
