Founder & Creator

Over my eleven years as a junior school classroom teacher, I’ve seen first-hand how the traditional 9-3 school environment doesn’t always provide enough repetition and exposure to key skills for every student. This is especially true for children with dyslexia, who often need three to four times more practice than their peers to achieve the same level of proficiency in reading and writing.
This challenge is something I know all too well, as I've watched some students struggle to keep up, despite their immense effort.
Through my training in the Multisensory Structured Language Approach with the Australian Dyslexia Association and my experience leading Structured Literacy programs across schools, I’ve learned how powerful evidence-based methods can be in helping children build strong reading and writing skills.
That’s why I created Word Whizz - to give families access to self-paced and research-backed literacy support. These hubs are designed based on everything I’ve learned in the classroom and through specialist training, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to gain literacy confidence.
If you need advice regarding your child’s literacy, I’d love to help - reach out via our contact page.
